Let’s face the truth. Being overweight is not a good sign when it comes to social plans & dating. Even though there are (and still will be) people who have some extra kilogrammes, we tend to call them as BBW (big beautiful woman )or BHM (big handsome men).
What’s the real reason behind that acronyms? Why does society not call BBWs as “fat” as they likely to have curves here & there?
1.Being BBW doesn’t mean to be fat
Having curves means that of course you are fightings with some extra body rolls but it can't be classified as fat since it’s not a “socially friendly” word. People who are being called as fat are usually desperate to heavy diet and losing health in order to this. If you call someone as fat, you are likely to put that person into strong depression and seeking help to cure his / her mind.
Of course some “fat” people call themselves as “fat” and then it’s nothing wrong because they accept it. If a person who you are hanging out with do not allow anyone to call him/herself as fat, you have no rights to use that word either.
What’s more most of BBWs DO NOT call themselves as “fat” but rather “plus-size” and we shall stick to this term.
2.Being BBW doesn’t mean to be unhealthy
There's a stereotype that “fat” people are unhealthy since their plus size body is a reason of eating junk food & easy to care lifestyle.
In fact, people who are chubby with an XL clothes label, can be healthy & sporty as well! How it's possible? It’s not fat rolls who determined someone’s condition, but a lifestyle! Healthy lifestyle = being healthy. Then you might ask, why “fat” healthy people are still fighting with extra kilogrammes? Some people do not want to lose weight, even though keeping health on a proper level. You might not notice that but most of BBWs are under proper medical help and consultations with their doctors to keep themselves healthy despite extra kilogrammes.
3.Being BBW is a trend
Plus size models are extremely popular on social media and being called as “Insta-girls” ( a very attractive ladies with thousand of followers). They are showing fat rolls on daily basis, mostly without any photoshop. On the one hand they are showing the REAL side of women… but from another side they do slightly promote being overweight. Social media’s related to plus sizes and BBWs are one of most built up the industry. There is a bunch of dating sites for curvy ladies and their admirers all over the world.
The porn industry is taking advantages of “fat” girls as well. BBW is one of the most searchable tags for adult videos along with tags like “Asian” and “big boobs”.Every fashionable brand has an XL – XXXL label clothes. Lingerie stores are making underwear in huge sizes to fit all needs.
But NON of them call those girls as FAT. Is this a trend?
You can find an answer yourself…
