International experts and dieticians claim that Body Mass Index known as BMI is just a number and has nothing to do with an actual state of body and health condition. With this theory, it's safe to say that being overweight and BBW doesn't mean being unhealthy. However, from another hand, why so many fat people are more likely to die of heart attack or a brain stroke? Is it because of fat percentage or just a coincidence? What about slim people and their likelihood of being unhealthy and die?
Around one-third of people in the USA with a normal BMI fared poorly in cardiac and metabolic health tests. In another hand about a quarter of 40 thousand adults involved in the study were classed as obese or very obese, despite having a healthy heart and metabolism. Then does it really mean that fat people are unhealthy and by eating more and more they are signing an own contract for fast dead?
Scientist claims that people should eat for reaching the desire of being slim, but should eat and keep diet for being healthy, even if it means being obese. Once you will eat those products which your body needs to most, hence you will be healthy, despite high or low Body Mass Index.
It seems like being BBW is being a victim of stereotypes about an unhealthy lifestyle. Due to modern culture, being slim and fitness type of person is more desired than being fat. Chubby people are automatically described as someone who is lazy and do not think well about proper body condition, healthy eating and of course exercise. Fat people are likely to be rejected, scrolled down and judged because of their body shape. Since someone who is chubby can be spotted as a healthy person, here comes another aspect about promoting BBW.
Is promoting a Big and Beautiful Woman unhealthy and abnormal if the intersection of body image boosting and health is much more complicated than it might appear?
Some guys like slim girls, some of them prefer to mingle with ladies with extra kilogrammes. It all depends on personal preferences and yet cultural background. However, since as we claimed before being fat doesn't mean being unhealthy, is it okay to promote fat girls?
Nowadays, even modern culture and modelling world had changed in this matter. XL or plus size models to exists, however they are not as much popular as slim and fit looking girls. What's more any XL size model or celebrity is rather criticise about her/ his look than talent.
Is it hard to find a proper and exact answer for the question does being BBW mean being unhealthy. For sure most of the people are going to think in a stereotypical way that someone who is fat, is nothing more than a lazy couch potato, eating tonnes of calories per day. From a psychological point of view, being plus size does mean being unhealthy, since modern world still put a defect on people who are struggling with kilogrammes. From a medical point of view, despite the extra weight, anyone can be healthy since Body Mass Index is not the only way to describe body's condition.
The only thing we can be sure for now is statement that obesity is a complex topic with many answers and even more questions to be answered.
